MARFA – The 32nd Annual Marfa Lights Festival will take place Labor Day Weekend beginning Friday, August 31 to Sunday, September 2.
Festivities will kick off this year on Friday at 4:30pm with the great music selections by DJ Krazy Legs. Vendor booths will open at 5pm. Shortly thereafter, DJ TonE will be mixing up his tunes. Tejano Hwy 281 will take stage with some Tejano and Country hits. We will wrap up the night with La Tropa F from 10pm-midnight.
Saturday morning the fun begins at 8am at the Marfa Visitor Center with a 5K Tech Trot Run/Walk to benefit Marfa Public School’s Technology Fund to purchase computers and software for Marfa ISD students.
All runners/walkers are encouraged to sign up on line at RunSignUp.com . After August 15, the registration fee will be $30. Registration on the day of event will be $35. Each participant will receive a 2018 Tech Trot performance tee shirt and a Marfa goodie bag. Awards will be presented on the Marfa Lights Festival main stage at 11am.
In conjunction with the 2018 Mar-fa Lights Festival, the 2nd Annual Ernest Chavez Memorial Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament will take place at Marfa Municipal Golf Course.
Registration will begin at 9am with shotgun start at 10am. It will be a two-man scramble at $100 per team. Prizes for first place are $250 and $175 for second place with two and possibly three flights.

Entries will begin lining up in front of the Marfa Elementary School at 9am and then the route will proceed to the front of the courthouse and down Highland Avenue. After the parade, everyone is invited to make their way to the courthouse where there will be a variety of food, drinks, crafts, game booths, and much more for all ages to enjoy.
Throughout the day there will be a variety of entertainment from DJs, folklorico dancers, and mariachis. Music performers will be Windy City Band (Chicago tribute band), Roger Velasquez & The Latin Legendz, Ram Herrera, and Jaime Y Los Chamacos.
The Marfa Chamber of Commerce will again host HAPPY HOUR from 6-7pm. All alcohol beverages at the BEER BOOTH will be $1 off!!!
On Sunday we will continue the festivities with a DJ and The Gruv Crew (formally known as Liquid Skin). At 3pm there will be a Live on Location Broadcast of Tejano Sundays Radio Show with Robert Alvarez. Robert will be broadcasting his show live until 6pm from the courthouse grounds. The Marfa Chamber will host yet another HAPPY HOUR from 4-5pm, $1 off all alcohol beverages at BEER BOOTH. DJ Jazzy Jezz will wrap up the festivities spinning his tunes from 6pm -7pm.
Marfa Chamber of Commerce will allow coolers to be taken to courthouse at a suggested donation of $20 per cooler.
