Ruben T. Muñiz, age 60, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Sunday, December 2, 2018 in Odessa.
He was born in Candelaria on October 28, 1958 to Tomas Muñiz and Juana Tarango.
Ruben enjoyed drinking, dancing, and listening to music. He loved children. His kids and grandkids were his passion. He loved to fight with his sister Alicia, who he called, “Tumble Weed.” Ruben was a was a very caring person with a heart of gold who loved animals. His favorite saying was “Ama…”
Ruben is survived by his sons Jesse Joe Muñiz, Ruben Muñiz, Jr. and Richard M. Muñiz and wife Stephanie; daughter Yesenia Torres and husband Eli; brothers Manuel and Ben Muñiz; sisters Alicia Muñiz, Juanita Romero, Tomasita Serna, Maria Aguirre, Elva Porras, Emma Porras, Elia Rubio, Marisela Olivas and Norma Gallegos; and grandchildren Ayerim, Johanna, Amerie, Amaris, and Avery Muñiz; Amariah, Elijah and Aaliyah Torres, and Destiny Hernandez.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Jose Muñiz and sisters Jesusita Barragan, Elisa Castillo, and Elvira Rey.
A Rosary was recited December 5, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was December 6, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with interment at the Odessa II Section of the Ector County Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
