Fireworks restriction in place for Presidio County
PRESIDIO COUNTY – Last week the Presidio County Commissioner’s Court ordered a restriction on firework use in the county in the interest of public safety. The order prohibits the use of larger fireworks like “skyrockets with sticks” and “missiles with fins” within the county. Not prohibited are some fireworks considered small in size, classified as Class C explosives. While most fireworks are restricted, people can still set off fireworks at Vizcaino Park in Marfa and at the horse race track one mile west of Presidio on FM 170.
