Salgado graduates from ASU

Maritza Mae Salgado graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo on Saturday, December 15, 2018 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in printmaking during commencement exercises.

Commencement speaker was Dr. Jack W. Nowlin, Dean of the Texas Tech University School of Law.

Maritza held her senior art exhibit in November.

She is the daughter of Juan and Rebecca Garcia Salgado of San Angelo and formerly of Presidio. She is the granddaughter of Anita Garcia and the late Gustavo Garcia of Presidio and the granddaughter of Tomas Salgado and the late Abigail Salgado, formerly of Presidio.

“I hope to continue my art and wherever it takes me,” said Maritza. “I’m going to take some much needed time off with my daughter Mia, age three, and my husband Pete Arredondo, (ASU alumni BFA painting and drawing 2015) until our second daughter arrives in April.”

“My mother and father have been the best support I could have ever asked for, my family is everything,” she said.

Congratulations Mitzi!
