Funeral services for Corina “Jera” Peña Brito, 45, of Redford will be at 11am Friday, January 18 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Redford with Fr. Mike Alcuino officiating.
Visitation will be held today from 9am-9pm at the church with the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 7pm this evening, Thursday, January 17.
Burial will follow in Redford Cemetery, under the direction of Duarte Funeral Home of Level-land.
Corina passed away January 13, 2019, in San Antonio.
She was born September 27, 1973 to Trinidad “Trini” and Elvira Anaya Peña in Alpine. Corina graduated from Presidio High School. She married Gerardo Ramos Brito on January 6, 1992 in Presidio and had one daughter from this blessed union.
“Jera,” as her family and close friends knew her by this nickname, was a home health and elderly care provider, a “CAN,” in Redford and Presidio for several years.
Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking special deserts and pastries for her family and spending special quality time and occasions with them.
Corina was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Redford.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gerardo Ramos Brito of Redford; their daughter, Genira Brito, also of Redford; two brothers, Jimmy Peña of Redford and Mario Peña of Monahans; two sisters, Martha Peña of Fort Davis, and Leticia Gonzalez of Levelland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Trini and Elvira Peña, and her brother, Alfredo Peña.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Hartnett, Mario Peña, Joaquin Peña, Daniel Gardea, Auden Brito, Amador Levario, and Jose Galindo Jr.
Corina will be greatly missed by family and friends.
