MARFA – The Chinati Foundation is pleased to announce our schedule of events for the coming year. More information about these events will be made available in the months ahead.  Saturday, May 4 Chinati’s annual Community Day: Chinati’s annual celebration of our local friends, neighbors, and the youngest members of the Marfa community—students from the Marfa Independent School District. The day: Artwork and performances by students, select open viewing of Chinati’s collection, and a free BBQ dinner in the Arena. Everyone is welcome, locals and visitors. Friday, June 21 Solstice sunrise to sunset viewing of Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) from 7am to 9pm Friday – Sunday, October 11-13 Chinati Weekend: Our annual weekend-long event—the one time of year when all installations are open for self-guided viewing and the museum presents special exhibitions,  talks, and performances, all free to the public. Friday, November 29 Sunset viewing of Donald Judd’s 100 works in mill aluminum and 15 untitled works in concrete as well as Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) from 5 – 6pm Saturday, December 21 Winter Solstice sunrise to sunset viewing of Robert Irwin’s untitled (dawn to dusk) from  8am to 6pm
