ALPINE – On May 2 and 3, the Big Bend Citizens Alliance and the City of Alpine are presenting the 1 on 1 on 1 Livestream Music Festival!

The festival will feature more than 36 musicians with a personal or professional connection to the Big Bend and Brewster County, with a particular focus on players who live and work here. Each participating musician will play a 15-20 minute solo set on Facebook Live from their own location, and listeners can enjoy the show through a central Facebook page for the festival (https://www.facebook.com/1on1on1/).

The event will also raise money for the musicians and others who have been left without work during the coronavirus pandemic. Half of the proceeds from donations to the festival at fundrzr.com/BigBendMusic will benefit the Big Bend COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund (bigbendaid.org), and the remaining half will be earmarked for the musicians, who can donate their portion back into the fund if they choose.

The Big Bend COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund just completed its first round of applications for April and is now receiving requests for their May distribution. So far, 54 individuals and families in Brewster County have been approved for cash assistance. They will use these much needed funds for things such as rent and mortgages, medical bills, phone bills, prescriptions, groceries, vehicle necessities and other small, important purchases such as denture cream, diapers and cleaning supplies.
