MARFA — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will have a drive-up school supplies giveaway and ice cream to-go event on Sunday, July 26 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.  This year the event will be contact-free.

Literacy is one of the most important life skills a person can learn, and access to school materials can be a challenge for some families. Providing school supplies for children in our town helps to reduce a major barrier to learning and makes you feel great about ensuring that children start the school year – whatever shape that takes – with the tools they need!

If you would like to contribute, there is a donation box at the Dollar General store on Hwy 90 East. Supplies may also be dropped off at St. Paul’s Church, just north of the courthouse on the corner of Washington and Highland Avenue. Cash donations are also welcome. Please mail a check to PO Box 175, Marfa, TX 79843.

Please come by St. Paul’s, the rock church behind the Marfa Courthouse, where volunteers will be handing out packages of school supplies, plus frozen treats, Sunday afternoon. Even if you’re not a student, don’t need supplies or it’s just a hot afternoon, please come by and get an ice cream. Everyone is welcome!
