Enedina Carmona

On Friday, August 21, 2020, Enedina Carmona was called by our Lord at the age of 94 at Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Formerly of Marfa, Texas, she resided in Del Rio, Texas, at La Vida Serena Nursing Home. Nina, as she was called, was born to Maria Ramos Polanco and Santa Maria Polanco on August 24, 1925, in Casa Piedra, Texas. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and older brothers and sisters, Luisa P. Russell, Petra P. Fiero, Josie P. Lujan, Manuel Polanco and Ramon Polanco. She is survived by youngest sister, Lucille Polanco. Nina married Rafael Carmona and she had four step-children, Linda C. Schwizer, Rafael Carmona Jr., Debbie McRae and David Carmona. They lived in Los Angeles, California. Rafael passed and Nina went back to Marfa and lived with her youngest sister. 

Nina was a housewife/homemaker who loved to bake, play the piano, harmonica and crochet. She was a lifetime member of the Guadalupanas and a devoted Catholic. She had numerous nephews and nieces, grand and great-grand. The burial was in Marfa under the direction of Alpine Memorial Funeral Home. The pallbearers were James Fernandez, Gilbert Polanco, Robert Polanco, Armando Sauceda and Billy Joe Fierro.
