ALPINE — As the fall semester winds down, Sul Ross State University said that in light of their commitment to the safety and health of students, faculty and staff, the school has decided that the Fall 2020 SRSU Commencement will be held through a virtual ceremony on Saturday, December 12, beginning at 10 a.m. All four Sul Ross campuses – Alpine, Del Rio, Eagle Pass and Uvalde – will participate in this single commencement event.
“All of us in the Sul Ross family are deeply disappointed that we are unable to gather socially for this traditional celebration,” wrote Dean Wilkinson, director for the school’s communications office. “We understand commencement is the moment in the college experience we all strive for and look forward to.”
“While our goal remains to return to our regular celebration format, we are moving forward with a virtual commencement experience so that we can still highlight this important milestone in the lives of our students and their families,” wrote Wilkinson. “We are working hard to provide a fulfilling event while ensuring the safety of all the participants.”
