Mary Anne Vaughn, 75, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2023, in Midland, Texas.
She was born August 22, 1948, to Clarence D. Lowrance and Mary L. Spruill
Lowrance in Monahans, Texas. She married Thomas N. Vaughn on June 6, 1969, in Odessa, Texas.
Mary Anne was a beloved mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Thomas N. Vaughn of Candelaria, Texas; her son, Hugh Vaughn and his wife, Penny of Alpine, Texas; her daughter, Amy Patin and her husband, Brian of Andrews, Texas; her brothers, Robert Lowrance of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and Tom Lowrance of Sanderson, Texas. She was a cherished Omi to 11 grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Mary Anne had a fulfilling career in computer information systems at Sul Ross State University. Her professional life was marked by her dedication, hard work, and the respect she earned from her colleagues. Beyond her professional life, Mary Anne loved to cook and bake, often entertaining her family and friends.
She loved to go antiquing and fishing. She was very social within her group of friends and loved getting together for gatherings filled with laughter and shared memories.
The epicenter of Mary Anne’s life was her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating precious memories that will be cherished forever. Her love for her family was evident in the way she always made sure they were taken care of. Mary Anne’s passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy of love, friendship and thoughtfulness will continue to shine brightly as guidance through the difficult times. She will be deeply missed, but her love will continue to surround her family and friends, offering comfort and solace in their time of grief.
