As first reported on the Facebook page, Alpine Texas Scanner, a dead body was found under a bridge on Holland Avenue in Alpine Sunday afternoon. After notifying kin, the Alpine Police Department updated their initial statement to identify the deceased as James R. Kim, 60 of Alpine.
The department posted the following statement on Sunday:
“On Sunday February 2, 2025 at approximately 1:00 pm, Alpine Police department received a report of a body in Alpine Creek just below the Holland Avenue bridge at the 400 Block West. Officers responded to find the body of a deceased male. An investigation was initiated and at this time foul play is not suspected. Body will be sent off for an autopsy. The identification of the deceased will not be released pending notification of next of kin. Brewster County Sheriffs Office as well as the Texas Rangers assisted. Case is pending further investigation.”
