To Our Community,
Since 1926, The Big Bend Sentinel has been providing news coverage to the Far West Texas region, documenting the history of the tri-county area and its people while holding local government accountable.
Over the last four and a half years of new stewardship, our vision has stayed true to its roots –– building on past successes and continuing to provide high-quality journalism to our remote area. Although operating costs have continued to rise, our belief in access to local information has never wavered, which is why we’ve kept the price of the paper to $1/issue, online and in print.
Good journalism comes at a cost, and to remain sustainable, we’ve established a fiscal partnership with a leading 501(c)(3) news-focused organization, Tiny News Collective, that will allow individuals to make tax-deductible donations to support reporting on the issues that matter –– education and local government, rural healthcare and the environment, border policies and immigration.
This institution is bigger than any one person. It is news and information you can trust from a publication you can count on. Your support, however big or small, will help us carry on the tradition and work towards a successful, sustainable model for the next 100 years.
Thank you,
The Big Bend Sentinel
