ALPINE – The annual Spirits of the West Festival, a celebration of Texas winemakers, spirit distillers, brewmasters, beef producers and chefs from across Texas will take place this weekend April 19 and 20 at the Brewster County Courthouse.

The event is put on by the nonprofit Alpine Gallery Night, which also hosts the annual Artwalk. “We are excited to bring back Spirits bigger and better this year! Year over year, we’ve grown the festival in both participation and attendance,” said Alpine Gallery Night Executive Director Lance Johnson. “The courthouse lawn and surrounding streets will give us more space for more vendors, food and fun.”

The two-day culinary festival, presented by Chateau Wright Winery and Rebecca Creek Distillery, kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday, April 19, with a street festival featuring dozens of vendors from Texas wineries, distilleries and breweries, as well as restaurant chefs. Live musical acts Friday night include Alpine’s own The Swifts, Feline Fox and Texas original headliner Joe King Carrasco.

On Saturday, April 20, the event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day opens with a free Bloody Mary bar, presented by Alpine’s Gallery Night and Tito’s Vodka. Expect a full day of wine and spirits tastings, art vendors, food booths and grill chefs. Live music includes Angel and The Badmen, The Scott Walker Band, Dawn & Hawkes, Doug Moreland, Red Shahan, Anthony Ray Wright, and West Texas fan-favorite headliner Los Pinche Gringos.

Tickets for the event range in price from $25-$100, with several optional tastings and classes.
