MARFA — The family of a nine-year-old girl from Marfa battling leukemia is reaching out to the community for financial support to help cover medical and travel expenses.
A GoFundMe was launched this week by members of her family with a $30,000 fundraising goal.
“As a daughter, sister, niece, and cousin, she has always been a strong, supportive, kind, and special little girl in our lives,” Alexis Villela, the girl’s sister, wrote on GoFundMe. “Now, as she battles this devastating illness, this will undoubtedly be a financial burden to our family.
