MARFA — The Marfa Municipal Alliance for Dead Country and Folk Singers will perform “Songs for the Broken Hearted,” a fundraiser for Casa Hogar orphanage in Ojinaga, at 7 p.m. Friday, February 14, at The Pony.

The show will open with an abbreviated set by Primo y Beebe. There will be 11 instrumentalists and 15 vocalists rotating on and off the stage to perform 26 Valentine’s Day tearjerkers — in keeping with the alliance motto “bringin’ sadness to your happy occasion” — by Ricky Nelson, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, Luke Bell, Rosanne Cash, The Judds, Ernest Tubb and more.

Bring cash for the bar and to tip the musicians. Tips will be donated to Casa Hogar orphanage, an already two-time recipient of band profits that said the donations are “extremely welcome” and go towards helping the orphanage cover their property taxes, according to alliance member Pat Keesey.
