BREWSTER COUNTY — The Nature Conservancy recently closed on the 671-acre Heath Canyon Ranch, located as a strategic inholding and river access point within Black Gap and along the Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River across from the La Linda bridge.
This project was designed and facilitated by King Land & Water working with Texas Ranch Sales, the Andy Kurie family, The Nature Conservancy, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Big Bend National Park, and several generous donors.
The property will be a gift to Texas Parks and Wildlife by The Nature Conservancy and managed as an addition to Black Gap Wildlife Management Area.
“Heath Canyon is a key take-out for Boquillas Canyon and put-in for the Lower Canyons, and this purchase will assure public access for future generations to come,” said James King of King Land & Water.
