ALPINE — A 1911-built historic structure in downtown Alpine destroyed in a May 2024 fire has officially been sold. The site, 109 to 115 West Holland Avenue, has been sold by Bill Ivey to the property holdings company Blue Wing LLC.

“It’s with much sadness that we are giving up the property, but it’s also a big relief,” Ivey said. “I do believe the buyers will do something really wonderful for Alpine.”

Greg Bow, owner of design build company Fabrica, is representing the buyer of the property. In a statement Bow wrote that Blue Wing LLC has contracted Fabrica for the redevelopment of the property. Bow told The Big Bend Sentinel plans for the site will be announced at a later date, but for now the goal is to make the property safe and secure.

“The first phase of the project will begin soon, starting with damage remediation and securing the site in preparation for future construction,” Bow wrote. “Fabrica will oversee both the design and build of a new space intended to support the long-term revitalization of Alpine’s commercial core while honoring the region’s history.”

He wrote that both Blue Wing LLC and Fabrica look forward to engaging the community as the project moves forward. He said both entities “extend their sincere appreciation to the Ivey family for the opportunity to reimagine this site, and to the City of Alpine for its continued patience and support throughout the early stages of this process.”
