A fond farewell to Art Blocks 500
The 2025 festival held particular significance as it coincided with the finale of the platform’s inaugural, defining collection, the “Art Blocks 500.” This series of 500 flagship
generative art projects established the platform’s reputation from 2020–2025. The weekend drew artists, collectors, and enthusiasts from across the world, all
converging on the remote West Texas art oasis, a town famous for its minimalist art
heritage.
Art Blocks and Glitch Gallary have long maintained physical gallerys in Marfa,
choosing the location for its deep-rooted history of pushing artistic boundaries, notably
inspired by the works of Donald Judd.
Pioneers of the space, such as generative and crypto artist Bård Ionson, whose projects were part of the “Art Blocks 500,” attended and unveiled new interactive works.
