The Presidio County Democratic Party and Big Bend Sentinel will host a candidate forum tonight at the USO Visitor’s Center in Marfa from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. On hand will be Democratic Party primary candidates for county races, including:
County Judge—David Beebe. (Incumbent José “Joe” Portillo Jr., will not be attending due to a date conflict, but will have a statement read.)
Commissioner Precinct 4—Susan Hays will not be attending due to a date conflict, but will have a rep attending to read a statement.
County Treasurer—Appointed incumbent Florcita Zubia. (Jusby Vasquez will not be attending due to a date conflict, but will have a statement read.)
County Clerk/District Clerk—Carolina Catano and Brenda Pando Covos.
Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace—Dina Jo Marquez.
Democratic County Chair—Irma Juárez.
Next week on Thursday, February 5, another forum will be held featuring South County candidates for: Precinct 2 county commissioner, Precinct 2 justice of the peace, as well as county-wide candidates for county judge, treasurer and district/county clerk.
