Carolina Nieto Bustamante, 80, of Presidio, Texas, passed away on February 1, 2026, at home in Presidio.

Rosary was held at 7 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 7, at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church with Father Mike officiating. Burial followed at Desert Hills Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Eternity Funeral Home.
Carolina was born in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Reymundo and Josefina Nieto on May 5, 1945. She went to school in Ojinaga and Juarez where she studied business and accounting. She worked as a news announcer for radio station XEOG in Ojinaga for several years in the 1960s. In her youth she was a model, a medical assistant, an accountant, and she even officiated marriages when she worked at the Presidencia Municipal in Ojinaga. She married Licenciado Jaime Antunez in 1971 in Ojinaga and Julian Bustamante in 2005.
Carolina is preceded in death by her brothers Juan de La Cruz, Luis, Humberto, TolÃn, Hernando and Ruben, and her sister, Olga.
Carolina is survived by her husband, Julian Bustamante; children Patricia Hendrix and Jaime Antunez; brother Arturo Nieto; and seven grandchildren.
The family of Carolina wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the friends and family who supported her and encouraged her through her long battle with cancer, which she fought with unwavering courage and resolve.
