Marfa Studio of Arts invites the public to attend its latest art show, which will showcase
the work of the elementary students in the SITES program. This year the students have learned about different art styles and made their ownn versions of them, from ceramics and crafts to watercolors and light boxes.

“Every year we look forward to the exciting work done in our Elementary school art program,” said Malinda Beeman, who launched Marfa Studio of Arts over 25 years ago. “Only the creative vision and guidance of our amazing teachers make this presentation of the kids’ art such an imaginative joy.”

The show will be Saturday, February 28 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Marfa Studio of Arts,
located at 106 East San Antonio St. As part of the kids art show, there will also be a
cookie decorating party led by Shannon Moberly. Refreshments will also be available.

The teachers in the Studio in the Elementary School Art program this year are Katy
Baldock, Katrina Jane, Marcela Rodriguez, and program coordinator Chelsea Quinlan.

Since 2004, the Studio in the Elementary School Program has brought high quality arts curriculum to children attending Marfa Elementary School. The Marfa Studio of Arts is a 501 (c 3) nonprofit organization. They are dependent on the generous foundations and the community to help fund our children’s program. Those include the Brown Foundation, the King Foundation, the Marfa Education Foundation, the Moody Foundation, the Permian Basin Area Foundation, the Texas Commission on the Arts, the Texas Cultural Trust and kind private donors.
