The Museum of the Big Bend will hold a closing reception for Desierto Peregrino with acclaimed visual artist Miguel Valverde of Chihuahua City, Mexico. With over two decades devoted to exploring color, identity, and cultural symbolism, Valverde’s work bridges tradition and modernity, Mexico and Europe.

The evening will feature a special conversation between Miguel Valverde and Carlos A. Rohana, director of the Museo Regional de Ojinaga, followed by Valverde’s live creation of a mural to be donated to the Museum of the Big Bend. Light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be served as this celebration of art, heritage and community concludes.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist, and there will be signed prints for sale by Valverde. Admission is free for museum members and SRSU Students and $10 for non-members. Saturday, February 28, 2026,  5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
