Terlingua firefighter stood ready to help neighbors in need
Terlingua Fire & EMS, Inc. mourns the loss of one of our own, Firefighter Chris Rogers #302.

Chris began serving with Terlingua Fire & EMS in 2023 and answered the call to serve the community of South Brewster County with dedication, pride, and professionalism. Through his service, he stood ready to help his neighbors in their time of need and represented the spirit of commitment and service that keeps rural departments strong.
Those who served alongside Chris remember him not only as a firefighter but as a friend and brother. His willingness to step forward in the service of others will not be forgotten by the members of this department or the community he served.
In recognition of his service, the flag at the Terlingua Fire & EMS station has been lowered to half-staff, and a Texas flag was flown over the Texas State Capitol in his honor. Firefighter Rogers’ unit number, 302, will also be retired in remembrance of his service to the department and the community.
Firefighter Chris Rogers answered his last alarm on March 10. His passing is a tremendous loss to our department and the Terlingua community.
Terlingua Fire & EMS held a Full Honors Memorial Service for Firefighter Rogers on Saturday, March 21, at 1 p.m. at Terlingua Fire & EMS. Members of the public, as well as fellow fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies, attended to honor Chris’ life and service.
Terlingua Fire & EMS extends our deepest condolences to Firefighter Rogers’ family, friends, and all who knew him. We ask the community to keep them, and our members, in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
