Congressional candidate Jones coming to Marfa July 18
MARFA – On Wednesday, July 18, Gina Ortiz Jones, Democratic Party candidate for Congressional District 23 is returning to Marfa for an event at the Hotel Saint George Bar Nadar. The political event begins at 7pm.
Raised in San Antonio in CD-23, a particularly vast one, encompassing all of Far West Texas to El Paso and more than 800 miles of Texas-Mexico border, Gina is an Air Force veteran who served as an intelligence officer and spent her subsequent career in civil service in the fields of national security, intelligence, defense, and economics. She’s resolute, tremendously smart, compassionate, and an all-in advocate for the prosperity, health, dignity, and safety of every person living in this district and in the United States.
Gina is a stellar individual to capably defeat the incumbent candidate in what is not only the most competitive district in Texas but among the most in the country. She soundly won her party’s nomination in a four-way primary, and her candidacy has been endorsed and funded by organizations including EMILY’s List, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red to Blue program, Victory Fund, Vote Vets, Human Rights Campaign, and Serve America.
She is challenging U.S. Rep. Will Hurd, R-San Antonio, in the November general election.
