City of Marfa to host papercrete workshop

MARFA- The City of Marfa invites everyone to explore the possibilities of using recycled paper as a building material or sculpting medium.

The workshop takes place

Saturday, July 28 from 9am – noon at the Marfa Receiving and Recycling center (at the end of Golf Course Road) and is FREE and open to the public.

During this demonstration, participants will walk through the steps of making papercrete utilizing simple and easily accessible methods.

Jenny Schooler from Terlingua will host the workshop equipped with her mixer, buckets, hand tools and block form, as well as finished blocks and art to share with participants.

Latex gloves and shredded paper will be provided and ready to go! Come try it, tell your friends, bring a sun hat, and don’t forget sunscreen!

Kids under 13 should come with an adult.
