Zúñiga

Oswaldo U. Zúñiga age, 46, of Odessa, passed away unexpectedly in Big Lake on Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, México, on June 19, 1972 to Osvaldo A. Zúñiga and Petra Ulate. He married Lucila “Lucy” Rentería on September 8, 1990 in Presidio. Oswaldo loved fishing, golfing, horse racing, karaoke, and above all loved his family. He was a great husband, father and loved his graddaughter. He never knew a stranger. He was self employed in trucking business and had recently being employed by Weatherford Oil Company.

He is preceded in death by his father, sister Edelmira U. Zúñiga, father-in-law Alfonso N. Rentería and his niece Kimberly Carrasco. He is survived by his mother Petra Ulate, wife Lucy R. Zúñiga, two daughters Elyssa and Cynthia Zúñiga, two sons Oswaldo Jr. and Elías Zúñiga all of Odessa, his sister Alma and husband Samuel Carrasco of Presidio, two brothers, Omar U. Zúñiga and Pedro Ulate, both of Odessa and his mother-in-law Lucila Renteria of Odessa and formerly of Presidio.

Oswaldo also is survived by a granddaughter Athena Grace Holder, a grandson on the way Gabriel Oswaldo Holder as well as many nieces and nephews that were more like grandchildren to him. “GO COWBOYS”

Visitation was Wednesday, July 18 with a Rosary at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is today, Thursday, July19, 2018 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church 612 E. 18th Street Odessa with Father Bernard Getigan officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens 6801 E. Hwy 80 Odessa, Texas. Arrangements entrusted to Odessa Funeral Home.
