Maria de Jesus Brito, age 58, of Odessa, passed peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 20, 2018. She was born Friday, December 25, 1959 to the late Guadalupe Sanchez Rodriguez and Rosa Emma Salgado Machuca in Mexico. She was a homemaker who was the heart of her family, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Raul Portillo Brito; sons: Raul A. Ramirez and wife Laura, all of Odessa and Raul Brito, Jr. of Laredo, TX; and daughters: Daisy M. Ramirez and her husband Lucio Guevara and Arlene Brito, all of Odessa, Carissa Brito of Las Vegas, NV and Krystle Lea Brito of Laredo; brothers: Juan Rodriguez of Ojinaga, Sergio Rodriguez of Odessa, Manuel E. Rodriguez of Midland and Auden Urias of Dallas; sisters: Cecilia Rodriguez Melchor of Presidio, Guadalupe Rodriguez of Ojinaga, Maribel Rodriguez Aguilar and Lilia Rodriguez Sanchez, both of Odessa, and Socorro Rodriguez Cortez of Midland; mother-in-law: Celia P. Brito of Presidio; brothers-in-law: Ruben Brito of Presidio and Ricardo Brito of Odessa; sister-in-law: Rebecca Brito of El Paso; and grandchildren: Sean A. Ramirez, Audrina J. Ramirez, Shae J. Guevara, Javin X. Guevara, all of Odessa, and Rylee Brito and Arabella K. Brito, both of Laredo. Rosary was recited Monday, July 23 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, followed by burial at Odessa II Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery. Father Fernando Bonilla officiated. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
