MARFA – Members of Los Yonke Gallos will host a fundraising golf tournament beginning at 10am this Saturday, August 4 at the Marfa Golf Course.
“All proceeds fron the tournament will go towards improvements to the baseball facilities at Vizcaino Park in Marfa as we look to bring amateur baseball back to Marfa beginning in the summer of 2019,” said Craig Jex Hawker, one of the organizers of the event.
He said that talks have been initiated with teams from Austin, El Paso, Mexico and other West Texas towns to play eight home games in Marfa beginning in late May of next year.
