FAR WEST TEXAS – Area Congressman Will Hurd, R-San Antonio, is assisting the Veterans History Project in collecting and preserving personal accounts of American War veterans, according to a new release from the representative’s office.

The Veterans History Project, through the Library of Congress, will be collecting stories through audio recording, video, and writing. Veterans are encouraged to bring letters, postcards, diaries, photos, or drawings from their time in service. The project is also seeking volunteers interested in interviewing our local veterans.

On Wednesday, September 26th, Rep. Hurd’s staff will be in Alpine, from 10am-1pm at the Bryan Wildenthal Memorial Library at Sul Ross State University.

And from 2-5pm that day, congressional staffers will be in Fort Davis at the Jeff Davis County Library on Memorial Square.
