On to state competition!
MONAHANS – The PHS Band competed in the UIL Solo/Ensemble Contest in Monahans on Saturday, February 2 and came home with some super results, with 22 of the students advancing to the state competition, which will be held in Austin on June 3. The students received ratings based on their individual(solo) or group(ensemble) performances, advancing to state only if they played a class I Solo/ensemble(- most difficult) & received a “One” rating on that performance. In addition, the soloists advancing to state had to have their solo memorized. Receiving a division I and advancing to the state competition were:
