PRESIDIO – Presidio High Aficionados of Solar Car (PHAS-Car) will present at the next PTO meeting at 6:30pm on February 20 at Presidio High School. The team invites the community to attend and support.
Presidio High School Solar Car is in its fifth year of soaking up the sun. This year’s Solar Car Challenge will be put to the test for a national competition in July 2019 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth.
Solar Car Challenge 2018 went cross-country from Ft. Worth to Palmdale, CA. PHASCar placed fourth out of 12 teams in the Classic Division.
Presidio High School students are currently engineering this year’s Solar Car. Students are learning the rules and regulations set by the Solar Car Challenge, OSHA, CAD design, electrical and mechanical components and presentation skills.
