CLYDE – On February 8-9, three members of the PHS band attended the ATSSB Region 6 Jazz Band festival and clinic culminating in a grand concert of jazz and big band music at the Clyde High School Auditorium.
The students achieved the honor back in September when they were selected for the ATSSB Region 6 Jazz Band.
Playing with the Jazz I Ensemble on bass trombone was freshman Octavio Padron. Playing with the Jazz II Ensemble was junior trumpet player Alexis Contreras and sophomore drum set player Jose Armendariz, Jr.
“Presidio should be very proud of these students,” said band director Mrs. Lucy Ferguson. “They are exceptional people and continue to learn and grow as musicians and great citizens. It is truly my privilege to work with them.”
