The accident totaled the Jeep and did extensive damage to the mobile home.
PRESIDIO COUNTY – A motor vehicle accident last Wednesday near the Marfa Municipal Airport between a southbound jeep on State Highway 17 and a northbound tractor-trailer rig pulling a Solitaire mobile home sent the driver of the jeep to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to official reports.
Victor Miramontes of Pecos was the driver of the jeep.
The driver of the tractor rig, Jeffrey Brown, reported to DPS officers that he observed the jeep crossing into his lane several times, eventually causing him to take evasive action.
Brown drove his rig and load off the highway into the grass, but despite this evasive action, the jeep hit the mobile home, causing the jeep to roll over.
Brown wasn’t injured, and Miramontes was charged with failing to drive in a single lane.
The Presidio County Sheriff’s Office and Marfa EMS also responded to the accident scene.
