MARFA – The Marfa Lights Festival, a local favorite and Marfa’s longest running festival, has been canceled for 2020, according to an announcement put out by organizers last week.

The Chamber of Commerce’s annual event usually brings food carts, a parade, live music and shopping to town, with vendors circling the courthouse and welcoming locals, tourists and many out-of-towners returning to their hometown to celebrate the event on Labor Day weekend.

“We are deeply saddened to announce that the 2020 Marfa Lights Festival has been cancelled,” Marfa Chamber of Commerce wrote in their statement. “We want to keep our small community safe and healthy, as well as our neighboring communities. We appreciate everyone’s support and look forward to celebrating 2021 with all of you!” organizers said.
