MARFA — The Marfa Studio of Arts will celebrate Dia de los Muertos by building an altar in our gallery window and will be on view starting on Saturday, October 31, through November 15. Visitors are welcome to view it at any time, but the night of Sunday, November 1, it will be lit with candles and decorated with flowers. The location of the gallery is 106 East San Antonio Street in the building with Marfa Public Radio.
For the event, the MSA has invited Austin artist Federico Archuleta to repaint the Virgin of Guadalupe, which has graced the west wall of the building for many years. He will replicate the faded image with the bright, beautiful colors of the original design.
