Presidio takes 3rd and 6th at Pecos cross-country meet

PRESIDIO — The Presidio schools cross-country teams competed at the Pecos cross-country meet earlier this month, and as usual, there were strong showings by some of the players.

Marco Reyes, one of the school’s star runners, captured first in the varsity boys race, with a time of 15 minutes and 24 seconds. That helped the varsity boys team close out at third place overall, with a total score of 52.

Another strong showing in that race was Eddie Flores, who finished in seventh place at 16:45. Next up were Jose Fernandez (12th place, with 17:00) and Edgar Galindo (14th with 17:06).

On the varsity girls’ side, Presidio came in sixth place overall, with a total score of 171 points.

The strongest results in that race came from Andrea Navarrete (20th place, with 14:11) and Judith Bustamante (21st, with 14:15).
