MARFA — The Lost Year, an exhibition of (mostly) local artists from Marfa and Alpine will be opening with a socially-distanced reception and outdoor concert from 6 p.m. to midnight at Marfa Open on Saturday, March 20.

The show, which coincides with the spring equinox, is organized by Marfa artist/musician J.D. Garcia and includes new work from Garcia, Adeline Schowengerdt, Pete Jones, Sarah Vasquez and Salvatore Tornabene of Marfa; Will Tyler Spurgin, Gabriel Portillo, Irlanda Vargas and R.J. Lindley of Alpine; Travis Walker of Marfa/Alpine/Terlingua/Ojinaga; and former Alpine resident Crowcrumbs.

Hitting the stage after the reception Is Marfa’s extreme heavy-metal band Reptilian Death Cult (featuring members of E.E.O.G. and former members of LBS.) making their live debut.

Masks and social distancing are mandatory in the gallery space and highly encouraged during the rock ‘n’ roll show.

Marfa Open is located at 102 S. Plateau Street, right behind Dairy Queen.
