Spice up your life with free herbs at Marfa Public Library!

MARFA –– Have you stopped by the library lately? Swing by and check out their new and improved courtyard, which has a beautiful herb garden for all your culinary, craft and apothecary needs. Need a little basil for your pizza? Or rosemary for a bath scrub? The library has you covered.

The garden has a variety of herb offerings, including three kinds of basil (Thai basil, Sweet Dani lemon basil and Siam Queen basil), epazote, garlic chives, jalapeños, mint, oregano, rosemary and sage. Come by and help yourself! Plus, they have bags and scissors, so it’s easy to take exactly what you need.

Special thanks to The Catherine Dumraese Trust for their support in creating the library herb garden. Additional thanks to West Texas Roots and Cactus Liquors for establishing the garden, and volunteers JD DiFabbio, Beth Kerzee, Joni Marginot and Scott May for their ongoing help.
