OBITUARY: Bobbie H. Lattner

On Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023, Bobbie H. Lattner quietly passed away at her home in Midland, Texas.

Bobbie was born April 27, 1926, in Sweetwater, Texas to Jessie and Honor Hallard. The family moved to Pecos in 1930 when Bobbie was four years old. 

Bobbie married Buford Chesney on September 20, 1945. They were married for 18 years before his passing in 1964. 

Bobbie married Travis Lattner in 1966. What a blessing it was for all of us to have such a wonderful blended family. 

Bobbie was employed at the Security State Bank for over 30 years before retiring in 1992. She formed many friendships throughout the community. Bobbie was a member of the First Baptist Church, active in several civic organizations and a volunteer at the hospital.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Honor Hallard; husbands Buford Chesney and Travis Lattner; twin sister Billie Nichols; brothers Curtis and Pete; and grandson Jon Steinmetz.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Myers, Carole Steinmetz, Teri Moore (Hardin); and sons Tip Chesney and Bill Lattner (Wendy); grandchildren Shannon Glenn, Caron McMichael (Dave), Ross Moore, Allison Szempruch (Paul) Travis Lattner; great-grandchildren John and Samantha Moore, Teagan and Stella Szempruch, and Chloe McMichael. 

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Midland or a charity of your choice.
