Big Bend Conservation Alliance to host binational bike ride

PRESIDIO — This Sunday, April 23, Presidians are invited to strap on their helmets and join the Big Bend Conservation Alliance for the organization’s first ever binational bike ride. The group will meet up at Presidio Pour Over Coffee and ride across the bridge to Ojinaga, with stops at the Museo Regional de Ojinaga and the Presidencia Municipal.

Community bike rides have become a new and fun tradition for sponsors Presidio Pour Over Coffee and Big Bend Conservation Alliance — on a cold and windy morning in January, Presidians gathered for a slow ride around town that brought people who came all the way from Marfa into the fold.

In March, the group got together again to ride from the Consulado de México — adding Mexican officials into the mix encouraged the organizers to start thinking about hosting a bike ride that spans both countries.

This weekend, everyone is invited to make that dream a reality. The group will meet up at Presidio Pour Over Coffee at 9 a.m. on Sunday and ride across the bridge around Ojinaga for around six miles with stops at culturally significant spots.
