Friends of Marfa Public Library’s annual Halloween costume competition results

MARFA — On Halloween afternoon, before families hit the street to trick-or-treat, Friends of Marfa Public Library held a Halloween party in the library courtyard. Community members of all ages partook in the festivities which included games, cupcakes and a costume contest. competition results are as follows:

Ages 0-4

Best homemade costume – Sebastian Torres as Manolo from The Book of Life

Scariest costume – Xanti Galindo as a vampire

Funniest costume – Aliana Wilmarth as Wednesday from The Addams Family

Ages 5-8

Best homemade costume –  Merit Fowlkes as a mermaid

Scariest costume – Emmanuel Reyes as a scary pumpkin

Funniest costume – Benny Cuevas as an alien abduction

Ages 9-12

Best homemade costume – Cy Watts as the Karate Kid

Scariest costume – Jaylynn Jacquez as Sally from A Nightmare Before Christmas

Funniest costume – Mia Rosas as a clown

Adults and groups

Best homemade costume – Romeo Fuentes and Abel Acosta-Fuentes as Transformers

Scariest costume – Gabriel Chavrria as The Phantom of the Opera

Funniest costume – Zoe Kurland and Travis Bubenik as Garth and Wayne from Wayne’s World
