MARFA — Marfa’s basketball teams traveled to Van Horn Tuesday evening to battle the Eagles and saw the boys team bring home a thrilling 3-point victory, while the girls fell to the Eagles.

In a seesaw battle during the boys game, the game was tied with 30 seconds left in the game before Marco Ruiz hit one of two foul shots to take a 1-point advantage, before Van Horn once again fouled Marfa’s Alejandro Rodriguez, who had already scored a 3 and two additional layups to help Marfa’s cause. With four seconds left, Marfa took the lead, and Van Horn missed a 3 to tie, giving Marfa the win, and sending them to a 2-1 record in district.
