PRESIDIO –– Spring has sprung and the Presidio Public Library has prepared two weeks of fun festivities for local kids. During next week’s PISD spring break, the Big Bend Conservation Alliance (BBCA) is co-hosting a series of gardening workshops to encourage youngsters to bring more color to Presidio.
In addition to the gardening workshop, the library will offer free activities for kids paired with books for green thumbs. On Monday, March 11, the activity will be rock painting; on Tuesday, March 12, visitors will get to play with watercolors. On Wednesday, March 13, attendees can complete garden-themed crafts, and on Thursday March 14 they can flex their creative muscles with coloring.
Each Spring Break activity begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 12 p.m.
The library would also like to put out advance notice for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, one of the most popular events of the year. The egg hunt will take place on the public library grounds on Wednesday, March 20, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees must bring their own baskets, but the library will provide candy while supplies last.
