ALPINE — First responders were dispatched to a single motor vehicle accident on West U.S. Hwy 90, approximately a mile from the roadside park outside of Alpine, on Sunday, April 7, around 5:50 p.m., according to an Alpine Fire Department Facebook post. 

One vehicle with a trailer was involved in the accident. Three people were transported to the Big Bend Regional Medical Center with moderate to severe injuries, according to the Alpine Fire Department. The Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, one of the responding agencies, was unable to provide any additional information as of press time, citing an ongoing investigation. 

The highway was closed while debris from the crash was being picked up by first responders, Sixto’s Wrecker Service and those waiting in traffic. The Alpine Fire Department extended appreciation to the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office and TxDOT for keeping first responders safe on the roadway.
