Mary Helen Valles, age 78, passed away on May 9, 2024, in Kermit, Texas. She was born on July 18, 1945, in Marfa, Texas, to Monico and Natalia (Fuentes) Balderrama. Mary married Ricky C. Valles on February 14, 1985, in Lovington, New Mexico, and they shared 39 wonderful years together.
Mary loved to go shopping, ride motorcycles and take care of her grandkids. She also enjoyed dancing and praying the Rosary. Mary was a member of the Legion of Mary since 2009. She was known as “Grandma” or “Nena” to her family and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monico and Natalia Balderrama, and one brother.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ricky Valles of Jal, New Mexico; son Michael Gonzales and wife Sonia of Las Cruces, New Mexico; daughter Michele Gonzales of Jal; brothers Raul Balderrama and wife Julie of Kermit, and Edmundo Balderrama and wife Yolanda of Monahans, Texas; sisters Gloria Balderrama Abila and husband Manuel of Odessa, Texas, and Nora A. Heidelberg and husband Jerry of Hobbs, New Mexico; and grandchildren Natalie Gonzales and husband Daniel and Jennifer Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Rosary will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 9 a.m. MST at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Jal. Mass will be at 10 a.m. MST on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
