MARFA — In honor of May being Mental Health Month, an anonymous donor gave two books on mental health to the Marfa Public Library.

Dr. Chris Palmer’s book, Brain Energy: A Revolutionary Breakthrough in Understanding Mental Health – and Improving Treatment for Anxiety, Depression, OCD, PTSD, and More, addresses the link between mental health and metabolic disorders of the brain. He offers insights into new treatments available today that readers can use at home to promote long-term healing through diet and environmental controls of almost any mental disorder, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, alcoholism, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, autism and even schizophrenia. His book is rich in research and experience.

Dr. Georgia Ede’s book, Change Your Diet, Change Your Mind: A Powerful Plan toImprove Mood, Overcome Anxiety, and Protect Memory for a Lifetime of Optimal Mental Health, also looks at the impact of diet and other environmental factors on mental health. Searching YouTube and Google for their names will lead you to video interviews with these authors as well as scientific presentations by them.
