The Yonke Gallos de Marfa, hometown sandlot baseball team, will face off with the Austin Ramblers at 6 p.m. at Vizcaino Park followed by fireworks. Vendors will be on hand as will BBQ for sale.

Friday, July 5

Presidio

Food, music and fireworks at Daly Park:

Starting at 7 p.m. food from Mayahuel and La Carrera Street Tacos will be on sale with live music before a fireworks show.

Saturday, July 6

Drag racing at the Presidio International Speedway, 6 p.m., 16333 FM 170.

Alpine 

Alpine’s Vintage Independence Day Bash — Spirit of ’76 Celebration:

Morning Parade at 10:30 a.m.

Grand Marshals: Theatre of the Big Bend

Special Guests: The Alpine Cowboys Baseball Team

The parade will feature local bands, vintage cars, and floats by local businesses and organizations, showcasing the spirit and history of the beloved town.

Vendor Market 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Brewster County Courthouse lawn with food, beverages, crafts, artwork, jewelry, apparel, accessories and games

We are seeking local vendors & organizations to participate in this spectacular event. Booths are available for $50 for tri-county businesses and nonprofits. Booths are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Take advantage of this chance to showcase your products and services or fundraise for your organization.

Entertainment:

11:15 a.m.: National Anthem & welcome from the city & county officials

11:30 a.m.: Al Haney on saxophone

12:30 a.m.: Alpine Community Band

12:45 p.m.: Hot dog eating contest

1:30 p.m.: Robin Hood cast performance by Theatre of the Big Bend

2 p.m.: Town photo

2:30 p.m.: Performance by Simply Rick

Alpine High School 1970s classes reunion

The former students of Alpine High School who attended during the 1970s will be gathering at

the Brewster County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to noon. They will also organize a meeting place to gather to watch fireworks after dark.

Marathon

Live music with Mary Charlotte Young will be taking place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Gage Hotel White Buffalo Bar Patio. 

The first night of “Party Under the Stars” at the Marathon Motel and RV Park will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight featuring music, beer, margaritas and a food truck.

Terlingua

Parade and Tail Gate, starts at 5:30 p.m. with a parade line up, and wheels or whatever you have roll at 6 p.m. at the 188 Old Store. Parade with “whatever floats your boat,” with an end at the Terlingua Fire and EMS station with hot dogs and fun, including a cake walk. Drop off your cake walk goodies at Terlingua Fire and EMS between 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday, July 5

Marathon

Marathon Volunteer Fire Department’s Mustang Chili Cook Off and silent auction to support the MVFD and Marathon Senior Class will take place at 6 p.m. at the community center. 

From 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. BJ Barham will perform at the Gage Hotel White Buffalo Bar Patio.

“Party Under the Stars” at the Marathon Motel and RV Park featuring music, beer, margaritas and a food truck continues for a second night from 8 p.m. to midnight.

The Marathon Fire Department will present a firework show on main street at The Ritchey building after sundown.

Saturday, July 6

Marathon

10 a.m.: All School Reunion and Parade downtown

Noon to 2 p.m.: All School Reunion brisket plate lunch fundraiser at the Post, benefitting the Class of 2025

7 p.m. to midnight: Music and dance at the Post, with Craig Carter and the Spur of the Moment Band (food vendors at the dance).
