Crystal Rocio Alvarez passed away on April 23, 2024, after battling an ongoing illness at the Odessa Medical Center in Odessa, Texas. Crystal was born to Victoriano Alvarez and Francisca Vasquez in Detroit, Michigan, on September 20, 1986.

Crystal is preceded by death by both her parents. She is survived by daughters Alexis Villela and Emma Alvarez of Marfa, Texas; brothers Alvaro Alvarez of Detroit, Michigan, and Ruben Alvarez of Ojinaga, Chihuahua; and her nephews and nieces.

Crystal moved to Presidio, Texas, at a young age and graduated in the Presidio Blue Devil Class of 2005. After graduation, Crystal traveled around when she finally moved to Marfa in 2017 with her daughters and settled where she worked at Stripes, Uncles, and Porters/Lowe’s. Crystal was beyond grateful and appreciative of her Porters/Lowe’s family, who never gave up on her and supported her throughout her medical journey.

Crystal was a very compassionate and caring person. She always had the worries and struggles of others in her mind and heart, always trying to help as much as possible. Even when Crystal was sick, she never gave up on supporting and caring for her daughters. Crystal will be remembered as a very humble and kind person with lots of love to give.
