Kenneth Gossett died July 18, 2024, of cancer. He was a native Texan and graduated from Fort Worth’s Trimble Technical Vocational High School and received an associate degree in applied science and electrical engineering technology from Tarrant County College.

Ken and Cathy met and married in 1981. “The smartest decision I ever made,” said Ken. After Cathy got her RN, she encouraged Ken to go back to school, and he graduated from UT Arlington with a Bachelor of Science in physics. He worked as an engineer on military defense and national security projects. Retiring early from Lockheed Martin, he moved to Jeff Davis County where he built a house, became a certified EMT with the JDC Mountain Medics, became a firefighter with Fort Davis VFD and with the DMR VFD, serving the community for many years. He also served as fire chief for DMR for several years.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Catherine, brother Monty Gossett, and three cats.
